it's just temporary....

well, i have good news and bad news...

the bad news -

i needed to stop my run program and most of the exercise routines that i have been doing, due to my lower back. what was once manageable has quickly become extremely unmanageable these days. for those who do not know, i have degenerative disc disease in my L5 disc...basically, the bottom disc of your tail bone. i have dealt with a lower-back problem for the last twenty years of my life - and it is to the point of not wanting to work for me anymore. the pain is too much and any type of impact, twisting, sitting, lifting, standing, etc.. causes even more pain.

so, off to the surgeon i go...working with the staff right now to get my surgery scheduled ASAP, as the pain is affecting my quality of life and preventing me from doing all the things i love...true sign of when it is time to do something about the 800 pound gorilla that follows me where ever i go :D

but wait, i did mention there is good news...well, besides being pain-free after my procedure.

part of my exercise program was doing something i was NEVER able to do because of my severe asthma...RUNNING!!! always wanted to do it, my lungs just made it impossible. well, with a lot of mind over matter, breathing techniques and a super fun app called "couch to 5K", i DID it!!! not only did i complete all nine weeks of the program, but i could RUN for the first time in my life without needing an inhaler to breathe!! i am so proud of myself and cannot wait to start running again after a three-month recovery period following my surgery...thinking there just may be a couple 5K races that i want to do...my time may not be the best and i most likely will be the caboose of the pack...but i WILL run and that is all the matters to me.

thank you for all your support and understanding...bringing sexy back WILL return this fall to finally rid my body of the FINAL TEN BABY POUNDS!!!

see you then...and happy fitness to you all..............

oh, for those that are interested in the procedure i will be getting...see the attached link for "anterior lumbar interbody fusion"
